Strategic Goals

What is the most important thing your organization is really trying to accomplish? Your high-level goals should measurable outcomes that flow from a mission statement supported by an analysis of threats, opportunities, weaknesses and strengths.

Terrain

Your goal achieving endeavors take place within a network of ecosystems connecting business, government, environmental, social, and personal spheres. This network of ecosystems is the stage upon which your story will be played out. Your activities need to work in harmony with the cycles of these ecosystems.

Scenarios

Scenarios are stories created to describe what alternative paths to achieving goals might look like. They help you anticipate changes in the terrain and adapt your planned activities accordingly.

Activities

For any goal, there are certain activities which are essential to success. Setting the timing for carrying out and monitoring the results of such activities is a vital step in the process. Activities that are heavily dependent one each other are critical – especially when they involve a transition from one scenario to another.

Participants

The critical activities of key scenarios are carried out by participants whose goals, motivations, strengths, weaknesses and rhythms can impact your goals. Participants may be members of your organization, customers, partners, suppliers or governments and you need to be in harmony with them.

Simulations

With an understanding of the first five Rhythmeering Factors, you can then select scenarios for simulation to explore the possible outcomes under various circumstances.

Interpretations

As you go about planning your day-to-day activities, examine events, situations and the outcome of previous actions in light of your strategic goals and simulation results. The assessment of these observations will help determine your next actions which may include refinement of the first six Rhythmeering Factors.
