Apps For Just About Anything

If you think back a few years ago when Apple released the iPhone, they campaigned with the idea that you could do just about anything on their phone. How? You simply downloaded their apps. These apps were downloaded using broadband technology. And it wasn’t long before android versions of the apps began to be developed as well. Today some of the most popular games and tools are a result of this technology. For example, the popular game angry birds is a top downloaded game. It keeps the world busy, occupied, and happy daily. Although simple, this game has pleased millions. In addition, google maps is another great app that serves as a great tool for those that need navigation help. Many people use this app daily with the help of broadband technology.

Messenger On Phones

Another example of broadband technology in action is the popular blackberry messaging service. This is a special message, not a text message. You may have heard the phrase, “BBM me.” It gained popularity with the Kardashians and became a celebrity favorite technology for communication. Today, several people still communicate with BBM through broadband technology.

Chances are you are doing something on your phone or computer that is utilizing broadband technology. It allows things to run smoother and faster. You can function better because of this technology and you might not even realize it. That’s what is so amazing about technology!

One of the oldest and most successful media players that can be used on any PC or MAC is RealPlayer. This media player has been available for years and can also be used to download and watch your favorite movies right from the comfort of your computer.

Unlike other media players that require an upfront fee to use them, the basic version of RealPlayer is free and offers computer users the ability to play videos in all types of video formats like AVI, MPEG-4, MP3, WAV and more.

What Movies are Available on RealPlayer?

With RealPlayer you have the ability to watch all of the same movies and TV shows that you might rent in your local movie rental store. One of the coolest things about this media player is that, since it’s a universal media player, you can also watch movies instantly in RealPlayer that you’ve downloaded from websites like Amazon.com.

Functionality

Another benefit of RealPlayer is that you can easily share your favorite videos on your favorite Social Media websites like Facebook and Twitter so your friends can enjoy the same videos or movies that you’ve been watching. You can also watch your favorite video content on your portable devices as well like Android and iPhone. This is a huge convenience for people who have to commute every day on trains or busses and are looking for something to fill that void on long trips back and forth from home to work.

Take Your Real Player to the Next Level

If you want to upgrade your RealPlayer and have more functionality, you can upgrade it to RealPlayer Plus for $39.99 and have the ability to burn videos that you’ve downloaded to DVD and watch them on your TV. With the upgraded RealPlayer you can also transfer videos to your smartphones, download more videos from other websites.

There are forums where you can discuss questions and supply answers on anything to do with snowmobile technology online. In addition, many snowmobile manufacturers have their own web sites.

Let’s Talk About It

Online forms are the new party line. People from all over can chime in and speak up on whatever is on their mind. Forums geared toward a specific group of people can be extremely helpful places to pick up information and tips. Snowmobile forums discuss great trails, types of manufactured snowmobiles, homemade snowmobiles, winter apparel, great vacation spots, technology and endless other wintery topics. Snowmobile Technology doesn’t stop at just the snowmobile itself either. Actual technology goes into the invention, creation and manufacture of snowmobile clothing and other apparel worn for winter. Keeping wind, snow and freezing rain out and the warmth in is the whole idea behind winter sports wear. And both apparel and snowmobiles have come a long ways since the days when my family used to travel with others to some wintery spot and follow the flags from bar to bar, carrying our suede/ leather wine sack filled with blackberry brandy. Back then Ski- Do and Arctic Cat were rival snowmobile companies and arch rivals.

Snowmobile Technology Timeline

Yes the snowmobile has come a long ways:

1920-first snowmobile prototype looked like a box on skis

In 1950- a sleeker and smaller snowmobile was built

A two person snowmobile was created in 1959

1977- beginning of professional snowmobile racing

In 1980 restrictions were put upon snowmobilers to protect animals and the environment

1992-saw crazy ‘freestyle’ snowmobiling achieve popularity

In 1999 there were an estimated four million riders in North America alone

How do you follow that up? Foreseers of the future are talking about snowmobiles that more closely resemble cars including having the driver /rider enclosed. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

Data centers remain the single most-amusing of all IT infrastructures. Not surprising, because it is these structures that make it possible to enjoy all the activities we enjoy doing online, including the seemingly simple acts such as chatting, emailing, and carrying out financial transactions.

The biggest internet players have huge data centers, most of them exclusively built to provide data center functions. Others prefer building multi-facility structures instead of single-building facilities. Still, others build multi-use facilities where part of the space is dedicated to data centers while the remaining space offers colocation services to third parties.

The Largest Single-Building Data Centers in the World

1. Topping this list is Digital Realty Trust’s Lakeside Technology Center, in Chicago. It consists of 1.1 million square foot of space and contains four fiber vaults. With power consumption of over 100 megawatts, it is the second-largest power consumer after O’Hare Airport. It has 3 electric power feeds, supported by over 50 generators. These generators are fueled by numerous 30,000 gallon diesel tanks. The data center’s cooling system is supported by refrigerated brine-like liquid, in an 8.5 million gallon tank.

2. It is followed by QTS Metro Data Center, Atlanta, which stands at 990,000 square feet.

The following companies complete the top 10 largest single-unit data centers:

3. The NAP of the Americas, Miami, at 750,000 sf.
4. NGD Europe, Wales, at 750 sf.
5. Microsoft Container Data Center Chicago, at 700,000 sf.
6. Microsoft, Dublin at 550,000 sf.
7. Phoenix One, Arizona at 538,000 sf.
8. DuPont Fabros CH1, Illinois at 485,000 sf.
9. Microsoft Data Centers – Quincy Washington and San Antonio – both 470,000 sf.
10. The Super NAP, LA at 470,000 sf. and 250 megawatt capacity.

Who has the Highest Number of Servers?

Google recently revealed that it had 45,000 servers in one of its data centers. If the figure is multiplied across all its data centers, it has a total of over 900,000servers. Microsoft has over 300,000 servers. Yahoo has over 155, 000 servers.

Other major players with confirmed figures as of September 2011 are:

1. OVH with the highest number of servers, at more than 100,000. The company is the leading web hosting company in France and the second largest in Europe.
2. SoftLayer, with its headquarters in Dallas, has 86,000 servers. Even more amazing is that the company was founded in 2005.
3. Akmai Technologies of Cambridge, MA has 84,000 servers.
4. Intel (California) with 75,000 servers.
5. Rackspace with 74,028 servers
6. 1&1 Internet with over 70,000 servers
7. Facebook with over 60,000 servers
8. LeaseWeb with 36,000
9. Intergenia with 30,000
10. SBC Communications with 29,193 servers
11. Verizon with 25, 778 servers
12. Time Warner Cable with 24,817 servers
13. HostEurope with 24,000servers and
14. AT&T with 20,000 servers.

HP/EDS have 380,000 servers spread across 180 data centers. Others with unconfirmed figures but suspected to be between the 40,000 and 100,000 server range are Amazon, eBay and GoDaddy.

From the above, it is clear that the largest data centers have tens of thousands of servers. Don’t forget that most companies are secretive about the number of servers they run. A single company with multiple data centers can therefore easily have a total of 1,000,000 servers.

One of the most exciting features of USB technology is the fact of its continued complexity and advancement. This is particularly visible when it comes to capacity concerns. When the USB drive was introduced in 2000, a future in which the device carried as much as 256 GB of space was almost unimaginable. Yet we have been inching towards these numbers all along and experts predict that we have by no means reached the upper limits of the drive’s design. Today’s USB drives are nearly endlessly flexible. Some allow as many as a million write or erasure cycles. Some have a ten-year shelf storage lifespan. There are USB drives and custom USB sticks for nearly every purpose.

An Electronic Conversation

The future of USB technology is bright, now that USB 2.0 has been introduced. As things stand, most devices have not even begun to tap the possibilities of USB 2.0. Still, we have USB devices that talk to game consoles like the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 as well as DVD players and even smart phones. More and more of these devices will be designed to interface with a wide variety of digital platforms—making them even more flexible.

Faster, Better, Stronger

When it comes to USB, the goals may seem relatively static. We’re always looking for devices that are physically smaller and more stable while simultaneously working in larger capacity and at faster speeds. Other innovations are always in the works as well though. For example, one company is looking to create a USB that protects the limited use of copyrighted materials for students. Others are creating USB drives that can function as memory cards to expand a computer’s memory capacity. Throughout the computer world, people and companies are committed to finding ways to use this tiny ubiquitous technology to its fullest.

One of the best investments anyone can make during this current economic recession is investing in themselves by learning how to do online Forex trading. There are many keys to success for getting involved in Forex trading but the most important of them all is finding the right broker.

What Should You Look For In A Broker?

1. They must be a reliable, professional company with a solid track record in the trading community.

2. Your broker must be able to provide you with real time quotes.

3. Fast execution of your orders.

4. Must not take a lot of commissions from your trades.

5. Most important of all, they must support the withdraw and deposit methods that you use.

Once you find a reliable broker your main concern should be the safety of your deposits and the honesty of your broker. Before you sign with any broker be sure to check the firm’s background by researching them through Forex websites like about.com: forex, forums and trading blogs.

Questions You Should Ask A Prospective Broker

Knowledge is power when you’re in the process of choosing a broker. Don’t hesitate to ask a prospective broker these questions.

1. Is the firm regulated by federal authorities?

2. What technology does it use to protect your personal information and account details from unauthorized access like SSL Encryption?

3. How much does the broker charge for spreads and commissions?

4. What is the initial deposit required to get started.

5. Do they support your form of withdrawal and deposit?

If the broker that you choose answers these questions to your satisfaction the last question that you should ask, especially if you’re just getting started is what support do they offer beginners? Many brokerage firms offer great support to beginners and make it their mission to educate them before they get started and you shouldn’t hesitate in using that free training because it will only help you to become a more successful Forex trader.

Learn about all different aspects of Forex on Wikipedia.

There are a number of new tablet computers in the marketplace. A tablet computer is faster and easier to use than a laptop. They are designed to allow users to input data directly on the screen. Most do not have a keyboard attached but instead use an on-screen virtual keyboard. Tablet computers are designed to be much lighter than laptops. The current trend in tablet computer design is to go for a sleek and stylish look.

Blackberry enters the Tablet Computer Market

Blackberry is known for its cell phones. A few years back they were the hottest cell phones on the market and have maintained their popularity with consumers for several years. Now the Blackberry Corporation has entered the market of tablet computers with its Blackberry Playbook. Blackberry is known for doing things well when it comes to technology. They seem to have learned from past mistakes by other tablet computer makers and they have addressed many of their shortcomings. Chief among these is the ability to utilize Flash technology.

The Playbook Features and Specs

Research in Motion, a Canadian technology company, is responsible for developing the Blackberry Playbook. The Playbook has a 7 inch 1080p LCD screen and is equipped with both a front facing HD video camera and a rear HD camera as well. Also included are a HDMI video output, Bluetooth compatibility, Wi-Fi, and micro USB ports. The Playbook has a dual-core processor and a multi-processing operating system. The multi-processing OS means that you can use multiple apps at one time. Because the Playbook is equipped to handle Flash technology, Adobe AIR developers will be able to design apps for the system. Blackberry is expected to establish a price point between 400 and 500 dollars. If you would like to take the Blackberry Playbook for a test drive, Research in Motion has made a downloadable simulator available on the Blackberry website.

It is also the use of computers and software’s to manage information. It is the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly in software applications and computer hardware.
